For a presentation by the Rijn&Venen Library, I used a cartography of an archipelago to map the coherence of core competences people need to navigate well in the modern information society.

Each island concerns an elementary skill, the proximity of the different islands shows how those skills are related. Through ferry connections, you can see the direct connections between concepts.

The archipelago is a base for exploring a larger sea area, the Sea of Knowledge.
